Woven into the fabric of Bristol since 1961, Arnolfini is an international centre of interdisciplinary contemporary arts, presenting an ambitious, diverse programme of visual art, performance, dance, film, and music, designed to appeal to a broad audience.
Our programme is based on an understanding of child development, child engagement, visual skills and artistic techniques. Art skills take time to develop, just like playing the piano, and the art-K programme grows with the child; the more confident they are, the more they are able to bring their creativity to their projects.
Bristol Print Room
Class sizes are small and are designed to be encouraging and supportive to help people of all abilities find their natural creativity - including complete beginners. Tutor Steph Renshaw has been running community art workshops since graduating from Aberystwyth University in 2003.
We don’t teach art - we facilitate learning through art. Offering opportunities to create, we invite people to explore, to think for themselves. We start a process, offer thoughts, plus ideas and tricks learned along the way. Giving space and encouragement we try hard to share the belief that there are not really mistakes in the process of making art, just chances and opportunities that we wouldn’t’ve otherwise come across.
We run messy play for Under 5’s every week and have sessions for older children in school holidays. Our Adult Art Club offers a chance to experience a range of arts and crafts. You can find more information and book on our events page. We also run parties for all ages. We can also facilitate workshops at Children’s Scrapstore or at your venue.
Our children’s classes are designed to inspire creativity and boost confidence. In every session we create a relaxing space, free from perfection and expectation. A space that encourages arty exploration, happy mistake-making and courageous, creative thinking.
Creative Glass Guild
We have developed excellent glass craft courses which we teach in our lovely studio spaces and our list of classes is still growing. From how to make stained glass to fusing, painting on glass, and masterclasses from visiting glass artists we have a glass craft course for everyone.
Cygnets Art School
Our kids joined the incredible art adventure with Cygnets four years ago and their enthusiasm has not faded even as they have become teenagers! Every lesson is unique and gives them an opportunity to try new techniques, new mediums and to create amazing work.
At Go Sketch Club we want to change that so that everyone can feel happy and confident when they sit down to draw. Yes, that also includes you if you would like to have some fun arty time with your child. Pre-recorded courses so you can access them whenever you want with a lifetime access so no monthly fee.
