Books and Crooks (Play)

A play for teenage readers (or for use in adult literacy classes) about two criminal old ladies and two gullible young librarians. I think I had more fun writing this than almost any of my other books. There are 5 parts.

 

A Squash and a Squeeze 

This was Julia Donaldson's first book, published in 1993, but it started its life earlier still, as a song which she wrote for children’s television. 

The words tell the story from the little old lady’s point of view, and Axel’s pictures let you see how the animals feel.
